Well, when it's me, I use cheap Winchester Xpert. But when I hunt with my uncle and he supplies the shells ;)I use Kent Faststeel. I don't really notice a difference except for the price.

xpert or kent i personally favor kent for faster kills but both are as accurate

I like Kent Fast Steel. They hit hard (for steel) and are not too much $$$$

Kent patterns in my gun better than the xpert, but the main reason I decided not to go with the xpert (although there is a big difference in the price) was the powder residue the xpert left on my barrel compared to the kent. Major difference. I'm a bit anal when it comes to cleaning my guns and the Kent makes a huge difference for me. That said, my buddy uses the xpert; hasn't cleaned his gun in two years, and it just jammed up for the first time last week off 2 3/4 inch target loads.

To each his own I suppose.

Are you planning on using the same shells for both ducks and geese? I know guys who have had great success just buying a bunch of 2's and using them universally. I'm going to use 3's for ducks and 1's for geese (both 1 1/4 oz loads @ 1425 fps).

Good luck

Any of the faster stuff - 1400 to 1550 fps is what I like...federal premium, federal speedshok, Kent, Winchester Xpert.....there is a lot of good ammo anymore...

Remington Sportsman Hi-Speed or Kents #4 work a number on greenies and geese alike. Put in a full choke in and let the feathered friends have it[:@]

I like steel at 1,550fps in a 3" shell with 1 1/8oz of #2's for ducks and a 3 1/2" shell with 1 3/8oz of BB's for geese.

If you want to spend more, there is always the other non toxic loads like Bismuth, Kent Tungsten Matrix, Federal High Density, Hevi Shot, Winchester XD, Remington HD.

the kent tungsten isnt worth the money i can kill as many with steel IMHO
