Default weapon selection

When duck or goose hunting how much difference is there going to be between using a 12 and 10 guage shot gun? Also, I was wondering if a 20 guage has enough power and range to water fowl hunt or not

20's are great for ducks and geese IMO if you are a good shot and a better person at selective shooting.....a 10 guage is the most efficient per shot volume but IMO a 12 will do it all for less money!!

A 12 Gauge with 3" Drylocks will do lots of damage.

I use my 20ga 1100 for close in duck work, my 12ga 870 for geese over dekes and a 10ga for pass shooting geese, although I favour my 870 for that 3rd shot regardless of what/how I am hunting waterfowl.

20 Will probably be good for close range. 10 is too hard to find anything for and 12 is perfect you can buy any adaptions to make your duck hunting better if you shoot a 12 ga

My friend has a 20 Ga. 870, uses it for everything. Ducks, geese, doves, pheasant, and he's never really complained about lacking power or anything like that. I have a 12 guage 870 and am very happy with it.
