Go buy a Remington 870 for $229 to $249. They are awesome guns, if you like pumps. Some guys might tell you a lot of bad about 870's, but there is a reason they are the #1 selling pump gun. They're like a Timex, take a lickin and keep in tickin. I took a spill last winter in the river and completely submerged mine, i just took it back to the house, dumped the water out of it and dried it off, and kept pouring it to em.

The Nova's been a great gun for me, and you can't argue with the price.

Seriously, go for the 870 Mag. Dang good scattergun. Don't take my word for it, do the research. Theres a reason you'll find them from Iraq to almost every SWAT team in the US as well as a minion of hunters. 8.9 Million sold last I read.

i have also shot the benelli nova, and the mossberg 500 and 835, they are all great guns. i believe it is mossberg that makes the maverick also, and i think you can get that gun for $159 to $189 dollars. I have never shot one so i dont know what they are like, but any of the other guns are good guns for less than $300.

You cant really go wrong with a pump gun, you need to find the gun that fits you best. No matter what gun you shoot if you dunk it, it will shoot, under cold conditions a pump is better. But when deep 6ed they will all fail.

I really like my nova, have had most others, and for $320 new, I haven't found a fault in it.
