RE: Looking for a descent Retriever

I have an Austalian Cattle dog that will retrieve until he can't hardly keep his head above water. Does it make him a good hunter? Probably not but he has the desire to please me, and that makes all the difference in the world. I have him chasing geese off my pond and have to call him off. But he's not a cold water dog, he's not built for it. Teach your dog to want to please you. You obviously don't have enough knowledge about dogs, teach yours. Dogs want to please their "alpha". Start with the basics, sit stay, etc. Kennel is important. Your dogs won't ever be anything until you teach them

IF YOU HAVE 2 LABS YOU DONT NEED A $1000 DOG. I HAVE A 6.5 YR OLD FEMALE BLACK SHE HAS BEEN RETRIEVING SINCE 9 MO. SHE HAD PUPS IN SEPT. I KEEP A CHOC MALE AND HAVE HIM FETCHING IN THE 32 DEGREE NIA RIVER. YOU HAVE TO SPEND TIME WITH THEM AND THEY WILL WONT TO PLEASE YOOU. I DONT THINK MY FEMALE WOULD WIN ANY RIBBONS BUT SHE WONT LEAVE A DUCK IN THE WATER,

GOOD LUCK
