I'd check around local sporting goods stores to see what kind of prices you can buy decoys for. These prices will more than likely be higher initially than internet companies but do not forget to factor in the Shipping and Handling charges and it may come out to really be a tad cheaper.
Make sure you have a goose call and you practice, practice, and practice some more.
You can also make your own black flag. That's not too difficult.
Canada Goose decoy numbers - I always tend to lean towards the theory of: "the more the merrier". If you are only in the market to buy a few decoys, make sure you at least get 1 dozen BigFoot Decoys. There are other fullbody decoys that may be cheaper but the BigFoots are the best decoys hands down.

Input from a goose guide. First of all, are you hunting where you can put out decoys? If you are don't place them to close to the blind, especially if it is above ground. How much do you know about goose hunting, setting decoys and calling? If you don't know much I suggest you get a good book on the subject. I happen to have written one. Big Foot decoys are the best looking, longest lasting decoys around. I use them, but then I guide. A dozen silhouettes (Alive Decoys), a dozen shells (Flambeau, Carry Lite or G&H) and a good goose flag from Randy "Flag Man" Bartz, and a good goose call (Haydel's) will help; if you are going to decoy geese. E-mail me and I can get you addresses for all those products.
Place your decoys in family groups of 3-9, space the groups about a yard apart, face most of the decoys into the wind, learn which goose vocalizations to use to get the geese to come in, learn how to flag correctly, learn to shoot overhead.
