Default Help with Boat Blind

I am wanting to build a new colapsable blind for my boat. I built one last year and it worked but was a pain to put up and take down. Does anyone know where I can find plans or drawings that might help....Thanks

I remove mine after every season, It takes about 2 minutes. It takes a little longer now that i secured the grass to the outside of the boat with metal strips and screws to hold it on so when you fold it up the grass isnt hanging in the boat. It comes off easy enough that i used to take the blind off the boat and use it as a ground blind when we could not hunt from the boat. I used the tubing and it is really strong.

would it be possible to use pvc pipe instead of the metal to lighten it up or would that make it weaker.

The pvc is gonna be considerably weaker than the conduit or metal tubing, but i would think it would be ok if you were using some lightweight blind cover. If you have a aggresive dog like mine (disobedience) that breaks on the fall and does not care what is in the way then i would not recommend a pvc blind. I dont beleive there is a big enough difference from the weight of the pvc and the metal to make a difference.

thanks 80 you definately give some good reasons for using the metal. i still haven't decided if i want to tackle the job of building one or not.
