Mossberg 935
I'm looking into buying a shotgun for goose and duck hunting in PA. I've been hearing some nice things about the Mossberg935 auto w/ 3 1/2 inch shell. Would anyone recommend this gun or not? I'm trying to stay under $600 would there be any other shotguns that would preform better than the mossberg for under that price? Thanks.

I've been thinking about the same gun, i might even go with the 835.
On last years duck opener one of the guys with me broke the synthetic stock clean off of his 935 when he was climbing out of the boat into the blind. he banged it pretty hard though, probably would have happened to any gun

I bought one and it would not eject 3 1/2" hevishot shells as I discovered when the gun jamed with a bunch of ducks flew right to me. So I unjamed it and reloaded and the ducks circled around and came back to me and it jamed again. I exchanged it for a Remington Spartan over/under. I has yet to jam. LOL. I would rather have a simple gun that works rather than a complicated gun that malfunctions!

Mine was brand new, disasembled, cleaned and reasembled. I would shoot 3" and some 3 1/2" but not hevishot for some reason. It was not a big deal I guess. I could have shot steel but it would have drove me crazy that it wouldn't shoot the hevishot. I'm just anal like that.
