Default Early Goose Season Pics

Just thought I would post up our pic from opening day for the early season in South Dakota. We didn't have that great of luck, only had 2 flocks come to our field that morning. The first flock decided to land about 50 yards out from our dekes. We pulled a few of 'em out of that flock, then one more flock came and we got 5 out of that flock. So, we got a total of 8 geese.

I was just real happy to get my pup out in the field this year (yellow lab), and to make it better he showed those springers how to retrieve geese

Ya, to make things worse I have to leave tomorrow in the AM to go combine soybeans at our other farm while the guys in the pics get to blast honkers all weekend [&o]

I'm just hoping I get some jerky out of those geese, we are all craving some goose jerky for those scouting trips.

The only reason I was kinda dissappointed in this years opener hunt was because last year we had a major treat. My buddies end up losing permission on their field for opener so we let them tag along with us and our group. So we end up with 15 guys in one field, all in blinds, about 10 dozen Hardcores were put out. We end up banging our limit of 5 a piece in a lil over an hour.

Here is a pic from our IL opener. We could of shot alot more birds but the limit is 2 apiece so cant do anything about that...

Here's 2 from the opening weekend in North Dakota. 4 guys limited out both days - 45 minutes the first and 90 minutes the second. Probably the best opening weekend I've ever had.
