super x 2
ok fellas I'm pretty set on buying the winchester super x 2 3.5in for duck and geese. I'm just wondering if any of you guys own one or what you think about the gun?

RE: super x 2
from everything i have heard they are great guns. if i have the money i am gona upgrade from my very problematic 870

RE: super x 2
BUY IT!!! I have had one for 5 years and it's the BEST shotgun I have ever owned, maybe as good as when the 1100 first came out with the 3" Magnum. Within the last 5 years all my buddies have either switch or had theirs put in the shop, We hunt some Rough Cold Muddy stuff and mine has held up! and shoots like a champ! Not saying it didn't need to be broke down and cleaned but I am pleased and would buy anotherin a minute but havn't needed to yet.

RE: super x 2
Thank for the input so far fellas I'm certain this is the gun i'm going to purchase.
Allseasonhunter- I also shoot a 870 and as far as I'm concerned it's the best pump ever made!! |
RE: super x 2

RE: super x 2
The 870 and 1100 Remingtons will go down as two of the best Shotguns ever made it is scary to think how many have been sold. I shot my first deer with an 870 25 years ago (My Dads) I own an 870 20 gauge and 2 1100's 12 gauges and I won't depart with any of them.

RE: super x 2
I was told by a friend that the Winchester has some pretty good kick to it. I dont know if that is true or not.
|
RE: super x 2
It won't kick anymore or less than any other 3 1/2",

RE: super x 2
The SX2 is a very good gun. The are well made and very reliable. It shares the same gas systemas the Browning Gold. It's a pretty easy gun to clean. Even the recoil/action spring in the stock is easy to take apart to clean. This model has a pretty high rib that some like and some don't.
My best buddy has a 3 1/2" that has had only one jam in the last five to six years. It even cycles 1oz loads all day long. Because the gun is a gas operatedsemi and weighs about 7 3/4 lbs.. recoil should be mild as long as it fits you well. Turkey loads ina 3 1/2" shell are not mild in any gun, but less painfull in some like the SX2 and others. Both the Winchester SX2's and Browning Gold's have a $100.00 rebate untill the end of November. |
RE: super x 2
well to tell you the truth i would buy it if i was you but also a browning and winchester are the same guns it would not matter which one you bought but it would be better than buying a 'pos' remington

RE: super x 2
Just got a BGH in black, just one failure to eject after 500 rds of target loads. Shoots great with very little kick. Should be a great Duck, Goose gun :)

RE: super x 2
I used to have an X2. It was wonderful. I would recomend the black synthetic finish. nothing can scratch that. The gun shot exclent. It was quick and I never expirenced one single jam. Even with the big 3 1/2 loads. The only flaw the x2 is known for. (and I hardly consider it a flaw) is the fireing pin will every ounce and a while not hit the primer hard enough. An i truly mean it when i say this dose not happen often. The solution is to keep the firing pin oiled every few weeks. Just a small spray of WD-40 is what i used and i never had a problem after i kept it oiled.Even though i cleaned the gun often you still have tospray a small amount right into the hole for the fireing pin.You would truly enjoy this gunif you decide to buy it.
