just wanting to know what everyone thought was a big goose. Around Kansas a big one goes between 12 to 17 pounds.

RE: big geese
now is that carrying or story telling? there is a big differance in size when it comes to those subjects.
anything i have to tote out of the marsh is big. not really sure, ive put them on my duck strap before and they still drag on the ground, that poundage sounds about right though. Edited by - nascar88 on 01/09/2002 11:33:52 |
RE: big geese
Common size geese around here go from about 11 to 16lbs. occasionally we get some in the lower 20's. Largest goose I've ever seen was 31lbs. We use weight scales.

RE: big geese
Never shot one that was 30lbs but had many in the low to mid 20's before

RE: big geese
My largest was 17# and 18# respectively. They were both shot at the same time in Mont. Co, Md. I thought they were huge, but from some of the post, maybe not so. Our average would be about 7-11#. I still thought they were big. FYI they are at the taxidermist as we speak.. Good Luck. Capt Brad.
