Default New Camera

My uncle wants a new video camera. Something we can get really good quality with, other than the walmart specials. I know this forum gets asked this all the time, but what are some cameras I should look into? Here are the purposes we will want it for:
Very amateur videographers (myself/cousin/uncle)
We will be deer hunting Southern IL deer & turkey
We will probably put the video directly onto a dvd from the camera
I might do some video editing
He would like it to be below $1500

What are some spec's we should look for in a camera to make a quality purchase? What are some cameras you would suggest? We don't want to go big time, we just figured if we were going to videotape, we want good quality.

Thanks for all your help!

Default RE: New Camera

Start buy looking here. There's a bunch of good one's out there. Some do better in low light, some are point and shoots. Hi-Def? You'll have to see what fits your needs the best.
