i just recently got an older sony handycam as a gift, the problem is that you cannot hook it up to a computer to edit. is there another way to edit or should i just invest in a newer camera before this season? only 14 days!!

Well it all depends doesn't it.....since it was a 'gift', will it hurt the feelings of whoever gave you the camera.
Can you afford to upgrade.
Do you have another tape machine to dub or dump the video over to and then transfer it to your computer.

what outputs does it have, usb? firewire?

what editing program do you have as well? I know my editing software only works with firewire, and not a usb. This is also a good excuse to get a brand new camera!!!
