RE: Neck Wringing

As a hunter, you owe it to the game you harvest to be sure that you do the job quickly. Whether its from a load of 6's or your foot/hand, whatever, just "Git-R-Dun" As it was said earlier if you cant finish the job, you shouldnt be out there...

BTW-I prefer to squeeze the birds chest, but if is still a bit frisky, I have no problem wringing a birds neck...

Just my two cents.

RE: Neck Wringing

My technique is very simple. When pheasant hunting or any upland bird, one swift swing of the bird's head to my gun stock kills it immediately. If your guns too nice for that, bend down and find a rock or branch and use that.

I hate waterfowl. I twist necks but do not like it due to they are harder to kill and bone structure is tougher. Last one the skin actually ripped off from the neck and left me with a partial skinned skull and blood all over. I usually grab the head and spin the body around it.

Has anyone thought to use those cheap stun guns you can get on ebay? If it works, that would be the way to go. No blood. No mess. Will prolly kill even a turkey immediately. Someone try it and let me know :)
