Pheasant habitat
Hi @ all!
I'm new here and first of all I greet you all.
And now here is the thread :-)
I'm really interessted in "American-pheasant-habitats".
As you can read in my profile I'm from Europe and I breed pheasants since 98 I think.
But it wasn't the sucess I expected. So I try to get tips from everywhere what is the best habitat for pheasants.
The only pics I've seen from US-ringnecks where made in huge graslands and corn fields. Is that typical?
Hope you got some descriptions for me or pictures maybe
(and I'm sorry for the mistakes I made ;-))) )
Thx

RE: Pheasant habitat
Good cover for American Pheasent is mainly fields, like cornfields that are planted and then not picked or switchgrass which is a good grass for pheasent, One thing over here in Pennsylvania where I live with pheasents is
hawks, owls, and other preditors they are taking over.

RE: Pheasant habitat
Hey, thanks for replying.
I know the preditor-problem much too well because here the hawks and foxes have taken over and pheasants and rabbits are suffering from that number.
Nearly all my pheasants, I breeded the last four years have been killed by them and cars too.
I got to look for an efficient method to hunt these preditors.
