Smile Grouse Are Looking Good

It looks like we should have a dandy Grouse season here in Northeast WA this year.
The weather during the hatch wasn't too bad.
There seem to be fewer grouse predators (??maybe?? due to more wolves??).
There are abundant grouse foods.
Many of the hens have large clutches of 8 or 9 chicks that have lived instead of the more common half-dozen by this time of year. The youngsters are between two and three times bigger than a Quail.
Lookin' good.

That's promising!

Here in NH it's been a pretty rainy season thus far, hope the chicks faired well!?
