Went out Christmas Eve morning to try the luck out on some Virginian grouse near Front Royal and of course I get a double flush at the end of the hunt when I am just looking to get back to the car and head home, Missed them both. Followed one down to where I last saw it to try him again and it flushed from behind me; damn thing was in a tree and I was watching the ground. Gave up the chase and started back to the trail along a small stream when all hell broke, WOODIES everywhere. No grouse but got my limit in Woodcock, Merry Christmas to me.
