Anyone done much dove hunting in the mountain area's of CO? I see them in town flying around (Durango). But I have yet to see them in the mtns or more rural areas where I can hunt. I do not have any access to private land unfortunately so it would need to be private. Going to head out to the high country this afternoon and see about some marmots

Was up around missionary ridge and saw some grouse but no doves or marmots. Saw a marmot yesterday in Telluride though, but i was on the gondola. Going to head towards silverton today and look for doves/deer/elk and marmots

Doves are "lowland" birds.
Look around watering holes as well as wheat (grain fields) or fields of weeds.
As far as private land --- go knock on some doors -- the worst that can happen is that they say "No".
