Your 20 gauge should do fine on preserve pheasants....just remember not to stretch your shots like you might be tempted to do with a 12 gauge and you should do fine. As for loads, I would recommend that you go with at least 1 oz of #5 shot (#6 would be my second choice). I would also not scrimp on a few bucks for a box of shells, and would buy premium ammo with copper or nickle plated shot. You will get better patterns by using these shells. no problem. I use a ruger o/u with mod/full as chokes with 7 1/2 shot 3in shells. You can let them go alittle before your shot. Good Luck John
