I use a shotgun that doesn't have choke tube threading, it would be considered a cylinder choke from manufacturer. I have no problem busting sporting clays with it out to 50yds. A modified choke with 7 1/2 shot would work just fine for doves.

IC, C, LM, or Mod would be fine. When you go much tighter, sometimes too many pellets destroys the meat. It doesn't take alot of pellets to bring down a dove either.

I always preferred a mod.

Does it say cyl bore on the barrel? Most of the older shotguns did not come with changeable chokes. My 870 Wingmaster came with a mod barrel on it and I had to buy a different barrel when I wanted to change chokes.

I would have to modify the existing barrel, the manufacturer no longer exists so there are no aftermarket parts or interchangeable parts for this gun. I used a caliper to measure the inside diam. it would fall under a cylinder choke.

It's a High Standard Flight King, not an expensive gun but I outshoot guys with $2,000.00 Semi's, doubles and O/U's when shooting sporting clays. I love the gun, very smooth cycling of shells and very short stroke on the pump.

No more than ic works great, out to 40 yards with 7 1/2 or 5's the pattern works like a champ. Tighter makes close doves almost impossible to hit and if hit makes a mess of them. If a double, I always use cyl. and sk. or IC.
IMHO

yeah a modified will serve you well for most shots but if they are flying a bit high you might try the full but if they are low put in an improved. best thing to do is have you chokes nearby so you can change as situations deem nessacary

i shoot mod for almost everything. i use it for all trap distances (16 yd to 27yd line) dove pheasante quail ect. its a good all around choke. but you have to remember that if shooting steel shot an ic choke for lead will be mod for steel, a mod choke for lead will be full choke for steel. pattern your gun to get a better understanding of what choke does what.

Good advice. I learned this the hard way.
