My brother and one of my friend both have a mossberg o/u, one has 20 the other has 12. I have to admit for under $600 they are real nice guns.

If you have an Academy Sports store near you check out their Yildiz. It's a Turkish gun that they import and distribute exclusively. They run around $400 and are very nice guns. I've shot a co-workers Browning Citori and actually prefer my Yildiz to it.

Check out the reviews on some of the gun sites on them.

you made right choice on caliner, 12 ga.

its little to much for quail, use no.8 shot and let quail get out father and use open choke.

me, i would spend extra bucks and get a BERETTA.

I was lucky enough to purchase a Berreta White Wing at Dicks for $750 in 12 gauge about 5 years ago. I only wish I had gotten the 20 ga. too.

i wish they would make change barrels for beretta, like you can put a 20 ga in and then 12 ga or 20 ga on top and 12 ga on bottom etc.

re beretta. great guns. have had brownings, weatherby, rem, etc. now have only berettas. just outstanding for upland and skeet alike. the 20 gauge is a pleasure tocarry. recently looked into buying a 28 ga barrel for 1 of my 20s. its almost worth buying a seperate gun the price is so high. I seean o/u as a lifetime purchase, something to pass along to future generations-- and enjoy throughout the year, not just during hunting season. I think worth spending a bit more upfront, if you can swing it...but to each his own.

YOU ARE RIGHT ON.

NOT MUCH I CAN ADD.

i bought a new truck, 32,000.

i bought a new home, 150,000.

i spend 6,000 a year on food.

i bought my lab for 800 dollars.

i bought a motorcycle for 8,000.

my dentist bill was 1500 this year.

i could go on .

its like the truck, what do you have after 5 years on that truck, maybe worth 10,000,a loss of 23.000. ouch.

buy a BERETTA FOR 900 DOLLARS AND IN 5 YEARS, IT WILL BE WORTH 900 DOLLARS .

s paul harvey said, GOOD DAY.
