RE: Pheasants???
As usual, I disagree to an extent. How well do you do with the .410 on a clays course? I have heard of a local guy whom can out shoot me with my 12 Ga. In this case, I think he can make a clean kill with the .410 Most hunters can not though. It all depends on your abilities as to what you can shoot. Please remember, A downed bird is good for all of us, a cripple is BAD for all of us.

RE: Pheasants???
I grew up next to the best pheasant hunting in my area, I would not use a 410. thats more for rabbits it takes a good shot to take doun a rooster, I would got with a 20 gauge or 12. I use a 12 g mossburg and you have to be fast to get a good shot. You will find them not to far from corn fields you will see them flying in and out of fields in the morning and at night. I always see them about 1/2 hr before dark. Look for grass fields or swalles in the middle of fields. Trust me when you get to the end of the swalles thats when they will fly up when out lease expect them to. Good luck there fun to hunt and test your quickness.

RE: Pheasants???
A 410 MAYBE LITE FOR PHEASANT, BUT IVE SHOT EVERY BIRD IN IDAHO IN ONE SEASON WITH A 410, LOTS OF PRACTICE, AND KNOWING YOUR AND THE GUNS LIMITS ARE THE KEY.
WOULD YOU EXPLAIN WHY ANY SPORTSMAN WOULD SHOT A 12 GA AT UPLAND BIRDS??????????

RE: Pheasants???
I shot my first pheasant with a single shot .410 . I hunted a few years and took a few. I also crippled a few as well. Got an 870 for christmas and haven' t shot another with the .410 since. So to answer the question, I' d say yes, you can, but if you have a bigger bore, use that. I have taken pheasants with everything but a 28ga. All will work in the right situation. JMHO
