I know people have their own view as to what gun they like best.
I was wondering if there is a ' best around gun' for partridge hunting. Is it 12 ga? 20 ga? Is it a O/U; SbyS; Auto; Pump? How about a Manufacture?
I have made a decision to buy a new shotgun this year for bird hunting. The only thing I have decided on is that it has to be a light weight gun, under 6lbs. I love walking in the woods and want a all day carrying gun.
What would you recommend?

Well, I bought a Fanchi 48AL Deluxe English Stock 20ga What a beautiful, light weight (5.6lbs) semi-auto. I hope it shoots as good as it looks! It replaces my Mossberg 500 Bantum 20ga pump with a full size stock; which by the way is up for sale.

I love upland game hunting, but I can never pick one gun, I love my Winchester 1300 pump, but If that gets to heavy, Ill take my Browning Citori O-U, but If that is to heavy Ill take my 20 ga. Citori, or my Beretta 390 20 ga., but then If im blocking, I take the old, Remington 11-87 out, for my usual Kansas trip, what should I carry

The " best" all round gun id the one that fits and you shoot best.
Thankfully I don' t have to settle on any one particular shotgun. IMHO the " best " is a O/U if one absolutely had only the choice of one. It would be in 12 ga for the versatility and also availability of loads for it. The 16 is a nice choice but ever try to find ammo in a particular load that you want? Not an easy chore where 12 ga can pretty much be had in whatever you want whereever you go.
