RE: side by side or over & under
which one, s/s or o/u, is generally heavier?

RE: side by side or over & under
Generally, sxs but with the new titaniums used on some o/u you're getting pretty light. But sxs are considered great field guns because of this.

RE: side by side or over & under
my question was which is heavier, and i believe u told me which is lighter, just want to make sure tho. the sxs are lighter but the new o/u with the titaniums are pretty light? is that correct?

RE: side by side or over & under
I say this in general, o/u are typically heavier in weight. Alot also depends upon the wood, and barrel length, etc. If you take a look at weight ranges, a sxs in 12ga will range anywhere from 6lbs to 7lbs. The o/u will run from 6.5lbs to 7.5lbs. Regarding titanium, the Franchi Titanium o/u weighs 5.9lbs to 6lbs. These are the only modelsin production but I expect to see moretitanium shotguns in the future.

RE: side by side or over & under
I just think O/U's look better than SxS.

RE: side by side or over & under
I use a o/u for pheasant and grouse cause i tend to do better with them
|
RE: side by side or over & under
i prefer over and under because its easier for me to aim

RE: side by side or over & under
I have shot both sxs and o/u, but own neither. I prefer the look and feel of an o/u. I agree that personal preference is probably the biggest factor. That being said, not enough can be said about proper gun fit, regardless of barrell configuration.
