RE: Ever used a single shot for Pheasant?

My first gun was an H&R 12 ga that we nicknamed the Blunderbuss. It kicked like a mule but after learning to shoot it, anything else seemed like nothing at all.Killed lots of pheasant, cottontail, blackbirds, sparrows, coyotes and crows with it as a kid/teenager before inheriting my grandpa's 20ga pump. I've still got the blunderbuss and I've picked up it's younger brother, a 20 ga with shortened stock, for when my boys get a bit older.

This year opening weekend in KS, we had a 10yr old on his first hunt with an H&R 410 single and he gothis first three pheasants ever with it using non-magnum loads.
