ACL injury to bird dog

Question to all Upland hunter's. I just got word this morning that my pointer, tore his ACL. The dog is very good in the upland, six years old. So my question is...would you folks spend the $700 to have the surgery done?

i feel bad for my dog.....a pitbull....he hurt his leg somehow i guess....with us just moving and dad switching jobs ect we definently cant spend the money on him right now...hes our baby..seriously.....lol...kinda wierd...some days hes fine.....other days hes bad...if hed just stay off the danged thingfor a few days i bet it would be ok.....doesnt seem to be MAJOR.....hes fat and heavy and overweight and lays and runs on it...figure if it hurt him bad enough he would lay up a few days.....he just doesnt want to!! so i dont know....i know it would be expensive.....thats why i thought about becoming a vet!! lol

I would do it in a second. No brainer. My dog's my buddy. Just think of all the birds they've gotten for you over the years. All the briars and thickets they've traversed to get thatwounded bird. So, let's say you put enough money as the amount of effort she put infinding birds for you. If she puts in 100% then put up 100% of the money. If 50% then pay 50%. Simple.
