Default first bird of the year

got my first bird of the year this morning, went out on my own land for awhile, got down in one of my lower fields and made a call, heard a gobble, so i moved across the field and flanked him a bit so i could get a better set up. sat down and called gentle for about 10 minutes when two big gobblers came in. the one in front was doing all the strutting and he was bigger so i let them both get really close and shot him. i coulda shot them both with one shot but i dont like to kill turkeys off my land to much, one a year is good enough for me. i'll post pics in a little while.

Are you hunting in CT? How are you hunting both private/landowner permits and state forests?

Regs are very clear that we can only 'purchase' one type of permit---is there a loophole? If so, key me in, I'd love to hunt the 500 acre state forest and all the private land I use now...

If not, better tread lightly, LEO will after your arse...
