Default same set up?

saturday morning i called in 2 birds....a jake and a boss tom......both going nuts from the tree.....called them down...hit the ground....gobbled the whole way to me....well the longbeard stopped 40-45yds out strutting....i was waiting for him to come 10yds closer....well the jake never gobble at all after hitting the ground...he snuck around the longbeard and made his way to me.....RIGHT to me......5yds from me.....starring me eye to eye....i knew i couldnt even blink....the long beard made his way into about 25-30yds(couldnt look at him good coz i would had to move my eyes)...wellll the jake won the starring contest and my eyes burned like you cant imagine....he kinda turned so i hurried and got a quick blink in....PUTT...PUTT PUTT...ohhhhh no....i hit the mouth call(which i can barely use)...and tried to calm him down...he worked around me to my right and backside...and eventually shut up and snuck off....the long beard didnt know what happend....just knew the jake putted and he snuck out.....i didnt get hard core busted.....they still dont know what i was.....i was just wondering if i could fool them with a simalar set up tomarow....that happend yesterday..didnt hunt today....i was thinking of setting up farther in the woods away from the field....and maybe up the hill a little ways....that way they wont hang up...once i see them they will be in range....and switching calls of course.....think they will fall for it again?? i want that boss tom.....dont know if hes THE BOSS...but he acted like it...strutting his stuff out there for 5 mins....not coming down till that jake came over to HIS hen.....and the way that jake NEVER gobbled and just snuck in on me.....i hope hes THE boss.....gobbled and acted like it.....what do you guys think? thanx alot

Default RE: same set up?

I think that you have a good chance as long as you know where they are roosting the night before, and you sneak in well before daybreak. I have fooled birds the next day several times after being busted.

Good Luck,
