I want to get my father a book on how to turkey hunt. I plan on having him out to my lease for his first turkey hunt and want to get him a book on "how to". He won't need to do too much himself b/c I will help, but reading such a book will help him understand the species, the peculiarities of the sport, etc.

Which book would you recommend?

One book I really enjoyed reading is Jerome B.Robinsons "In the Turkey Woods"!It deals with all the modern day aspects of turkey hunting layed out in a hunting format with lots of quotes from some of todays most popular turkey hunters.

Another good book is "SPRING GOBBLER FEVER",by Michael Hanback.

The "10th Legion" by Tom Peters is a great and entertaining book about turkey hunting you both will enjoy.

knight & hale had a nice little book on turkey hunting a while back. it's goo for beginners & covers just about everything.

I think you can learn as much on these forums than in any book . Just ask alot of questions .

This reply is a little late, but oh well. My favorite book is called "Innovative Turkey Hunting" by Jim Casada. It's got both advanced tactics for tough gobblers, and bread and butter stuff. Great book.
