Default old tom 4.....me zero

The old tom outsmarted me again today. Gobbled his head off for a half an hour, hit the ground silent and never gobbled again. Getting frustrated here in Illinois. I'll be after him again in the morning. Its getting personal between the two of us.

OMG~I know the feeling. I've been working 3 gobblers for two years now, and each year they come up with a new tactic and way to outsmart and frustrate me. Guess thats why they are soooo big and have such thick brushes!
Its definately personal here...each time they gobble I take it as a personal threat-of course now they rarely gobble, and when they do, I think its just to make fun of me, and see me get pissed off.lol
Smart critters.

that happens to me sometimes. try and accidently sit beneath his tree an hour before daylight. that always does the trick for me.

HAHA! I was seriously considering shooting him out of the tree on saturday (with my bow-wouldn't that have been pretty sweet?!) but someone told me it wasn't "ethical" so I didn't...

yeah thats usually what i use cause its too easy with a shotgun. everyone who has told me that ive told them to try it. ive got two shots off with a bow and havent connected yet. either i hit twigs or they see me draw back. its definiteely not easy with a bow. also the ones ive taken with a shotgun like that ive stalked cause they wouldnt get out of bed. for anyone who thinks its "unethical" to shoot them like that tell them to try and stalk a roosted turkey! lol theres nothing that they cant see you just have to move VERY very slowly and quietly.

dont bark at me about this i really dont roost them then try and sit right beneath them with a 12 gauge, just certain situations arise where i've gotta up my game
