Good luck to you too, I only heard one bird this afternoon and that was about 45 min before fly-up time.

Right before dark I had one gobbling to crows. Did it about 8 times before hitting the roost. This morning, it was so freaking foggy and cloudy, that I bet the birds stayed on roost til noon.

We did hear about three gobbles this morning, but they were way off. Coulda grabbed two hens though. Walked right up on us. It was rather exciting.

The hunting for opening day was much better than what I thought itd be with all of the bad luck Ive had scouting. Me and a buddy got set up on one on a WMA in Pottsville and he gobbled for allmost an hour .. he gobbled to crows he gobbled to cars and he gobbled to the guys about fifty yards from us trying to gobble on their turkey call. When I called with my slate call, which by the way sounded great, he did absolutely nothing. I couldnt see him but I know he was about 150 yds from us and Im pretty sure he was in the tree the whole time he was gobblin his head off. I didnt hear him fly down but I know he did because he just shut up and we didnt hear nothing from him for the next hour. The afternoon hunting was pretty good as well. I was with a few guys at a different spot and we had turkeys gobblin all over and we were about to top out in a field and one of the guys went ahead of us to see if there was anything in it and he saw one and shot it and when he shot about fifty flew off. So all in all it was a pretty good oppening day even though I didnt get me a turkey. Good luck to all of yaw and be safe out there!
