bw in 20 years of chasin these black feathery lil bassturds allover the place, I can honestly say that the ONLY ammo I recommend now is the NITRO HeviShot loads. 20 years ago I preferred Fed Prem and by the time 3.5"ers rolled around I was into Winchester Supremes. Even the old duplex Rems were actually pretty good loads in some guns if you didnt try and over constrict them! We started shooting Remingtons HeviShot several years ago and with a lil load and choke testing you can get some amazing results. But handsdown I have seen NOTHING compare too the hardhitting and long reaching combination of a Rhino tube full of Nitro HeviShot. Those old days of, "He hung up just 10, 15 or 20 yards too far out" are GONE!!!

I like (a lot) the Federal Heavyweight 3 1/2 inch shell. You dont really gain a whole lot going to a 3 1/2 inch over a 3", other than a little sorer sholder if god-forbid you do have to take a second or third shot, but I like it for the extra confidence. The shell shhots an extremly tight pattern (over 90% of the bb's in a 30" ring at 50 YARDS!!) and tight patterns are generally good, unless your not a very good shot. With a pattern that tight, you dont accedently hit a bird, you either aimed true, or you didnt! Be careful though, as with all heavier than lead shots, your gun must be capable of shooting steel!!! Extremely hot shell, with barrell speeds of 1300 fps, and enough knock-down power to stop a tank. Made in 5 and 6 shot only, your safe choosing either, but i prefer the 5 shot. Not a cheap date, 10 shells of the 3 1/2" at Gander Mountain are gonna set you back about $25.00, and I havnt been able to find them yet online to save a few buck yet. So, in summary, my choice:
Federal 3 1/2" mag shok premium HEAVYWEIGHT #5 shot
Federal 3 1/2" mag shok premium HEAVYWEIGHT #5 shot
