Default Need help with Nova pattern

Using a benelli Nova for the first time this year and after talking to some others I chose an undertaker choke with federal high velocity supremes #5's. Pattern is terrible at 40 yards. Buying a new choke is out of the question right now. Any suggestions? I heard I should try the factory full.

I use a hastings choke....0.665

You might try a different load. I also use Winchester 4s that do well for me.

buy yourself some Rem. Hevi-shot, Win. Hi-density Extended range, or Federal Heavyweight loads. Any of the heavier than lead loads pattern better than lead loads in my Nova. Using a Trulock Tky .660. #6 loads pattern better than #5's for me

You never said what the constriction was on your undertaker so I'm assuming that it is .665... Go out and get yourself a box of Winchester HV #5's

Try Remington number 6s. They pattern well in my son's 20 gauge Nova with Undertaker choke.

I have a suggestion...

Sell the Nova. Get a Remington 870.

Already have one. Doesn't pump well and rust at the first sign of water.

My Nova patterns very well with just about any #5 or #6 load (3 or 3.5) that I put in it. I am shooting through a .673 Rhino, and wouldn't hesitate to kill a bird at 40-45 yards. I have an 870 Supermag with a Rhino .660 that does a very good job as well, it's just the Nova handles neglect and slop a lot better than my Remington.
