If your going to hunt new ground now is the time to scout! In fact in my opinion its a must!Knowing landmarks, the contours of the land, creeks, fenelines, brush patch's,all play into a good set-up come opening day!Being familiar with not only the movements of your birds but the ground you hunt will greatly increase your success afield in putting you in high percentage set-ups!!;)

Season Opener here at Ft campbell is March 26. Today is going to be my first scouting days. Right now I'm just looking at patterns an whether or not they are staring to break up. Sometimes I 'll go squirrel hunting which is a perfect excuse to scout out a turkey here since most of the areas are available only for hunting. Campbell is tricky this way.
Either way considering we're on a warming trend it might not be too hard to spot a bird or 10 starting to starting to set out.

Now is the time for foot scouting your place. By late March into April, scout with your ears and binos!
