What is your opinion on a Mossberg Model 500 12 gauge fully camo. What would be the best a 3 inch or a 3 1/2 inch barrel? Does anyone have one if so do they like it or not.

I have one and while it isn't the best gun out there, it kills them every time and the price was right. I didn't want to spend so much on mine because it was to be a turkey only gun that generally gets the snot beat out of it, so that is why I went with the 500. I have a sling on mine and a 2.5x scope with the 3" chamber. It shoots #4 Winchester Supremes in a pattern good enough for 40 yards and has killed a lot of turkeys. I would love to upgrade to one of the remington 870 SPST's in 3 1/2", but can't justify the cost right now. My 500 cost $220 at Walmart and is the special turkey one with a 24" ported barrel and came with a XX full mossberg turkey choke. I will probably try another choke in it this year though.

I've got a Moss. 12 gauge .500 model and love the heck out of it. I beat the living snot out of it all the time and it still works like a charm. Killed every turkey that stood in front of it to date.
I got it at Wal Mart for $ 189.00 out the door and have never looked back. Bought my kids the youth 20 gauge model and plan on buying the 835 for this season. Only reason I'm buying the new one is as a gift to me and then I'll have three of the four. working on the whole set. As for the 935, I'm not really into the auto loaders as of yet.
My 12 gauge is fully camoed, and has the synthetic stock. I don't really have to worry about all the water and rain we have down here. Just lube it up really good.
Bottom line to answer your question: I love the gun whole hartedly.

Well I can get the .500 model with a 3 1/2 inch chamber for $298.99 or I can get the 3 inch chamber for $229.99. I was wondering if that gun would be good to not only shoot turkey but shoot dove or other types of birds to.

In my opinion I would go with the 3-inch chamber. The 500 was built around an 3-inch chamber not an 31/2 like the 835. With the money you save by going with the 3-inch you can buy an after market chock tube try different shot size and load and have a turkey thumper that reach to 40 plus yards.
