thanks for all the input. looked at the russell moccasin boots. $300 is a little pricey for my footwear. lacrosse alpha's it is!

Take a look at Rocky Low-Country Snake boot. Waterproof 15in high and comfortable to walk in and your feet will not sweat like rubber boots

I have a pair of Rocky Big Tom snake boots, I wear them quail hunting and their comfortable and waterproof and breathable.

Guess I'll just have to bug the blonde in the boot dept. here at Bass Pro Springfield. Maybe she'll help me put them on! Sounds like I had better try a bunch on and go from there. Thanks again for the input.
