Spring 05 Wisconsin Hunt Questions
I just found out i drew a permit for a turkey in Wi this spring.
Got a couple of Questions:
1. I got the first weekend, april 13-17, what is the best time for a spring hunt?
2. I plan to do it with my bow, to prove my dad wrong that i can do it, what type of broadhead should i use and where is the best place to aim.
3. what is the best way to set up, with a blind, or with dead fall in front?
Here is pic of a family of turkeys, there are some out there, i took this pic last year while scouting for deer. Did not get a permit last year.
thanks for your help

RE: Spring 05 Wisconsin Hunt Questions
For the broad heads i use a thunder head with one of those adder points behind the broad. This prevent the pass through which sounds wierd but you DO NOT want a pass though on a turkey. If using a bow you want to get the bird as close to the begining of the season so they arnt as pressured, and you can get them close enough for a bow shot. I have always been told to aim for a spot about 3-4 in back from where the beard comes out from the bird. This shot placement has always worked for me. He is a pic of where i always try to hit them. I cant figure out how to get this pic on here but i will get it when i do i will post it.

RE: Spring 05 Wisconsin Hunt Questions
I just called the Wisconsin DNR at 608-266-2621 and found out results are out but not posted yet. The lady looked mine up and I was drawn for late season period E which is May 11th to 15th. I love that late season anyway as I've taken a few gobblers around May 20th. Love that the green foliage...beautiful stuff...
