WELL TO ALL YOU TURKEY HUNTERS OUT THERE, I HAVE SHOT THEM IN THE AIR. THERE WAS ONLY 2 INSTANCES WHERE I KNEW I COULD KILL THEM, SO I PULLED UP AND DID JUST THAT! NOW, IM NOT SAYING TO GO OUT AND GET GOOFY, BUT IT CAN BE DONE. BUT I AM A BETTER SHOT THAN ALL OF YOU!!!!!TEE!HEE!

I've seen it done before, but not a good practice to do, most of the time the turkey will be flying away from you and the only thing you'll be able to him is it's a$$ end, and that'll just wound it, in most cases. I'm will BT on this one.

I missed a tom last season and he immediatly took to the air . I passed on the flying shot because I was worried about wounding him .

I agree with ya RR!But I believe the question is more directed towards hunting them like quail and thats downright ridiculous!<img src=icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle>Its one thing trying to bring down a wounded bird but another runnin into a flock and making feathers fall everywhere with nothin to show for it!<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

I understand what you mean now there TH16 but I'd still have to pass.Still to chancy and a bad habit to get into.I see or hear it at least once seems like every year someone shoots at em on the roost and then proceeds to shoot a couple more times as there flying off.Let em land and enjoy the fun.

yes, tnhunter16, I dropped them dead! atta boy, ridge runner. Be honest, it is the way to be. But no, I dont go around shooting at fleeing birds. where I go it is very hilly and has alot of ravines. I sneek quietly up to the ravine and peer over, and sometimes there will be a jake or 2, down there scratching around a stream. When they come up to flush, they get smoked! But, I really love it when they come in gobblin! But there has been alot of arguing, if it can be done. I am here to tell you it can! But, if you cant shoot well, dont try it!
