I have shot a few boxes of 3.5's out of my 835 it does have a little bite to it, just gotta hold it tight. Me and a friend got cocky one time and shot skeet with 3.5" number 6 turkey loads. We were black and blue the next morning but for a few minutes we were really cool.

[8D]sounds just plain foolish.......not really cool[8D]

recoil pads make a big difference,I shoot a 50 bmg and can shoot all day (150+rds.) with a pachmyer slip recoil pad with no ill effects.but only about 20 with out.I was ready to sell the rifle till I got a recoil pad.

whats wrong with 3 inchers?

keep yer minds outta the gutter now....

but seriously, i'm lethal out to 40 yds or so with 3" winchester #6...3.5 might give you some extra yds, but why punish yourself when you could just call em closer?

i totally agree, y shoot a 3.5 and get punched around, when you can shoot 3"'s and get just about the same results

The Sims Limb Saver recoil pad is amazing! Put one on my 835 last year, can't believe that it's the same gun.
