Pennsylvania Gobblers, when do they start????
#1
When do the gobbler in Pennsylvania start gobbling? I live in Indiana County. In the past five years I have heard them gobbling by this time all ready, but not this year. Is this because the weather? Heck, bucks havn't dropped their antlers here yet. Could this be why?

They are Gobbling here in my area.Last Saturday a friend and myself went to a private farm, and called in 33 birds.3 mature Gobblers in the bunch, and the assorted hen's and jakes.I was trying out my new Double Bull Blind, and they didn't have a clue! This farm is never open to hunting,so no harm was done.Bird's were very vocal, especially the one that Gobbled right in back of the blind at a distance of 7 yards. Good Luck this spring!

I will keep my ears open for them. There should be about a half dozen gobblers behind my house. I normally hear them start gobbling in mid February, but it is supposed to warm up this weekend. Maybe I will try to shock gobble them.

Buck Magnet, I was born in Indiana, PA. Still have relatives there (the Patterson's).
Anyway, they are gobbling around here already. A buddy of mine was trying out one of my box calls last week on his property and had birds answering. Maybe it's just the cold and snow at the moment that has them more worried about buildin' a fire than talkin'. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Saturday mornin I was sittin at the base of a tree when the birds woke up.Lots of limb talk. Then it started rainin turkeys. Those birds never shut up.The hens were goin crazy and that caused the gobblers to sound off.The big boys have been struttin heavy here for a few weeks now.I'm about 25minutes from Indiana Pa.
