Silencing a box call???

I have kinda a goofy question for everyone, how do you keep your box calls from making a bunch of racket in the woods. Ive bin using a rubber band wrapped around the box portion of the call, and letting the paddle float. But this is proffing to be hard on the tune since it rubbs the chalk off. Any suggestions?

I use two rubber bands; one around the box & the second around the paddle & box. Works great; give it a try.

I use a piece of leather strap put between the paddle and box. It is a loop that has an overhjand knot tied so it will slip and tighten.

I keep a nice wad of toilet paper between the paddle and the box.

The toilet paper's nice to have around as well.........

A single short-wide rubber band---I steal them off the broccoli bunches, those are the perfect size and obviously, easy to replace.

Only problem is they come in either red, blue or white---the colors of the gobbler's dome...

I've used many different things over the years, but the best I have found has been a regular ACE Wrist Wrap with Velcro. Just wrap it around the entire box call and it cannot move. It also protects from nics and scratches. I have been using the same ACE Wrap for the past 5 years on my Lynch Box and the Velcro is still in great condition. I found mine at WalMart for about 3-5$

I use one of my wife's camo hair "scrunchies". I double wrap it, drop it in my vest, and hit the woods.

I just put a rubber band around the whole thing. Don't have to chalk so often that way, and it stays perfectly quiet.
