Default ok i got my topo map, now what?

i just recieved my new topo map of my favorite hunting area from maptech (as was suggested from another recent post) and the thing is awesome. my only problem is ive only been hunting turkeys seriously for about 2 years and i am somewhat inexperienced. what should i be looking for when it comes to reading a topo map as far as turkey hunting goes? what terrain, features, etc... should i be looking for?

Has anyone checked out http://www.topozone.com
They have some free topo maps but may be hard to find the area you are looking for.

GS,Nothin beats good old fashioned leg work. Now is the time of year to scout new areas.Get out and walk every inch of the ground you intend to hunt then walk it again. You'll learn, roostin sites, feedin areas, strut zones and barriers both natural and man made. These are things no map can show you.Once you found them then you can mark them on your map for a quick reference.Good Luck

my only problem with scouting is that my hunting area is over 3 hours drive from my house. i do plan on making a few scouting trips right before the season opens.
