..well today was opening day for wva,so i get up at 4.15 am..and its pouring the rain down
but i was determed to go..im glad i did..i was late getting to my secret little field and i
set up,at the field edge hen decoy out at 25 yards,made one turkey call nothing no
gobling..so im there about 45 minutes and the hens and jakes start coming into the field
eveywhere,and the i just rolled my eyes to the left and there was a big longbeard looking
right at me..so he bust and ran..but i did not give up..and then over the noll in the field
a big gobbler sounds off...and there is two old hens right in front of my decoy yelping
and puring,shure enough ole big boy comes struting right in to the hens in fron of me
and rest is history,i put the scope on his neck just below the head..and boom he did
not even flop..at this time there were 21 turkeys in the field at the same time.jakes
and hens..he was.......21lb 10 inch beard,1 inch spurs..big ole eastern..YEEEPEEEE
