FIRST Turkey&Pics / Thank you
Here are some pics of my first gobbler, got him last Monday April 12th in the Black Hills (South Dakota).
17 lbs (according to the bathroom scale), 9” beard and ¾” in spurs.
Just wanted to say Thank You to all the great folks on this board! As a rookie trying to learn what it takes to hunt turkeys…...this site is awesome. I didn’t post a lot of questions or comments but I did stop by on just about a daily basis to read all the threads and pick up as much info as possible.
I am DEFINATLY ADDICTED, my brother-in-law still has his tag to fill and I can’t wait to get back out to the Turkey woods and help him call in his Tom.
Thanks again,
SD

Love your pics. I can relate to the snow out there. First bird I shot out there was in the snow too.
Good to hear the birds are working as I'll be heading out there in less than two weeks. Can't wait!
