Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Cold weather effects on Gobbling/breeding

Been cold in upsate NY unseasonably cold. Been out scouting and listening in the morning and evenings. Defiantly not as much gffobbling as I have experienced in the last couple years for this time of year. Last year 5 days before the May 1 opener I found a nest with about 8 eggs in it.

How does the cold effect the breeding cycle and gobbling of Turkey?

I would say it slows them a little, it is not unusal to hear of snow knocking off hens from the nest in the Western States, so I would think they must bread and nest early aswell. Just my thought...BT
