Ok, went on my first turkey hunt today. this morning didn't here or see a thing. So, I went back this afternoon, I setup on the edge of a horse pasture. Had a hen come within 50 yds of my decoys, she then started to get vocial. so I busted out the slate call. we where exchanging back and forth for about 5 mins, then she walked off away from me. Then about an hr later I seen her on the other side of the pasture and she had another turkey with her.
I read that in the morning they meet up with the toms, but about mid morning the hens slip away and leave the toms alone. But what happens later in the day do they meet back up and go roost together?
Just wondering if I should try to stay with this hen and hope the other one is a tom. An toughts on this.
Thanks

They may group back up - depends on where you are in the breeding cycle.
I would definetly watch that area. Though I would not call any more to that hen.
