I'm not a moderator here but here's the process. Store you photos on a photo hosting site on the web. There are several free ones out there. Make sure they allow direct linking. Many do not any longer. Upload your photos from your computer to these sites.
Some to check out are snapfish.com, hunt101.com, phototbucket.com.
Then simply copy the url to your photo and click the image button at the top of the text box when post a reply and paste the url between the formatting brackets.
See if it works with a picture of my daughter and a doe she shot.

The URL is the web-site your picture is stored on. It is the address the computer looks for to copy the picture.
My internet service allows me to upload pictures and that is where I post from.
Here is how I do it once a picture uploaded.
I write my text and when I want to post a picture
The code here to use is "Image" click on this. It can be found when you are posting a message. It is a buttom above the text box you are typing in to post these messages. That is where you will find it.
So "Image" gives you the following code ""
You would want to paste your URL(Address) in bewteen the brackets.
Would look like this - "
" Note you do not need the quotes but I needed to use them so this code would appear.
As I do it
I go to my web area that the pictures is stored and right click on the picture I want to use with my mouse. You will get a window open and it will have the word "Properties" on the bottom. Click this and it will open and will give you the URL or address. Copy this.
From your turkey picutre under your name the URL or address using Properties is this: http://forum.hunting.net/asppg/avata...key_img_01.gif
So using Image button
Practice using your turkey and it should make sense.
I confuse you?

PSE - in most cases I do not shrink it but use as is.
I know there is a definite size but can't remember what it is here.
Oh I am not a MOD here but am elsewhere.....

The easiest way to get the Url for you picture is to just copy the address in the address bar. Another method is to right click your mouse while on the picture and when the window pops up select properties. Then simply copy the address.
When you click the IMG button you'll get

If you want to practice right click on any of the images here and you'll see what I mean.
Generally you don't need to shrink your photos. But sometimes you do. For imstance you'll need to if you use photobucket.com. But it's easy enough by just editing the photo there. Otherwise it's usually done automatically when you upload the picture.
Good Luck!
