I make purrs by vibrating my lips together. It doesn't sound as good as the pros but the turkeys respond to it.

Bosstom gave great advice in another post about this. Try gargling and just adjust the pressure of your tounge on the call. Some calls are easier to get this down than others.

I think I can speak for everyone, you are not bothering anyone. That's what we all enjoy on here, giving our 2cents.
