Quaker Boy or Primos
 

ok each year I switch back & forth between different call makers (I know how stupid but heck I just like to goof off each year).

This year my choices are Quaker Boy or Primos. It's your guy's/gal's call this year, which way should I go?

The screamin green calls from Quaker Boy are nice.I know I didn't like the double framed calls from Primos.

If you pick Quaker Boy you'll get some brownie points from BT.

QuakerBoy ! QuakerBoy ! QuakerBoy ! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> moonge which ever you choose I'm sure you'll be happy , The screemin greens are an easyer mouth call to use, I'm not sure what primo's have for a line and have never used there calls.
Rackmaster If your having latex rot problems heres what ya do. Wash your calls after useing them , at the end of the season and air dry them off. and place them in a pastic container in your refidgerator crisper. I have Comp. calls that I have had for 3-4 years and still use them...BT

Primos call's are a little to thick to suit my taste's,sort of like huffing on a Oreo Cookie.

I'd go with Primos calls because they sound the most reallistic to me.But thats just my thought.

I'd have to say quaker boy also, they have some real nice calls. But i do kind of have a grudge against Primos...seems like their just out to get your money...

If you tear one of each call apart and compare, QB uses crowned frames and sets the latex to hold longer....I'm a QB boy

well I have ended my choice after long thought & from some of your posts. SinceI collect turkey calls I have just about everything from both companies. last year I used primos & was very happy. I think this year I will split it like this. I will alternate each day between them!

QB peecock / woodpecker call

as to why I don't mix them up --- heck I don't know. I'm kind of anal or something. when I do mix & match my choices become real simple.....here is that list!

I think more than anything I am just going crazy getting ready for turkey season. In the end who know I may go crazy & try some old knight & hale calls again!

Why choose one or the other? They both make some good calls along with other call makers. I always carry a variety of calls. Whatever I like the sound of, I buy.

as far as slate calls go i just bought a knight & hale ol'yeller sla-tek and man does this thing sound awesome! ive been driving my girlfriend crazy practicing with it. almost as much fun as actually being in the woods turkey hunting, NOT !!!

Primos mouth calls I like alot. So far I havent found a qb call that fits me right. i am looking at there walnut slate though.

I've really liked anything I've tried with the Quaker Boy name on it. Even the Little One-Sider box call, one of the least expensive box calls on the market. The gobblers really responded to that call, 'till I sat on it and broke it! I ended up using it as much or more than my Lynch. I ought to get another one, just to see if it's as good as the first.

QB mouth calls seem to hold their sound longer for me than other brands I've used. Old Boss Hen is my favorite.

Nothing against Primos or any other call maker. Just a personal preference.

Ky Headhunter, give the quaker boy boat paddle a try this year. it works great in the mountains in southern KY!!!!!!!!!!!!

QB mainly because they carry them at the local hardware store. I have a few from other makers though.

My favorite call is my paddle box call. Can't recall who makes it though. Next I like the QB Pro Triple mouth call. Could never get my QB Old Boss Hen to sound good.

The next call I want to get though is that Lohman pump action yelper.

Thanks for the tip, moonge. From what I understand, the boat paddle can really reach out there. That's a good thing when you're trying to locate toms in thick-forested mountains (aka Big South Fork).

So many calls to buy, so little $$$ in my wallet...

10 Bore right on about Butski! I have a ton of his stuff, his mouth calls are the best! too bad his calls are so hard to find anymore, he uesed to have good slate, box, push pulls, etc. but all I ever see now is his mouth calls & they are few & far between.

I was playing around with a Quaker Boy Little One Sider box yesterday. I couldn't make it sound bad. I may have to get one.

Also, I've used a QB 10-sider for the last two years. The turkeys seem to like it <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I HAVE KILLED ALOT OF TURKEYS WHEN USING MY QB SLATE CALL. I HAVE THE SCREAMIN GREEN COLLECTION ALSO. BUT A GOOD TURKEY HUNTER CAN USE ANY STYLE AND MAKE IT WORK.

I don't thing you can go wrong with any of the four big manufacturers; Primos, quaker boy, H.s Strut, or knight and hale. Got a little of each in my vest.

i like the QB ole boss hen that i have but after reading some of these post i am going to pick up one of those screamin greens. i have a little trouble w/ the PRIMOS that i have. its like gobblestopper says though , if you are doing it right it dont matter what brand you use!!!
