I am looking to buy a turkey vest this year any recommendations

For the last several years I have used the H.S. Strut vest. I didn't care for it all. Two large front pockets, two large rear pockets and the game bag.

Now I have the Mossy Oak Elite Turkey vest and love it! Great vest, holds all my little toys, less rattle.

For something a little cheaper but still a great product, I suggest the Mossy Oak Longbeard vest. I bought one for my hunting buddy at Christmas and really like it. Lighter wait then the Elite, but still has enough pockets. Also comes with shell loops. Best part is, I just saw today where wing supply has them on sale for $19.99....

IMHO- Comfort and accessibility is first and formost, you've got to be able to sit on the cushion for hours without your backside going numb and be able to gain access to your 37 different calls you will carry.(if you dont have that many now, give it time). Just try them all on and see what suits your needs- Personally I dont like them big and bulky but it must have plenty of pockets- I prefer the shoulder straps versus the full vest types that wear like a sleeveless coat cause it stays pretty hot here in South Louisiana-

Oh, and scrap everything I just said if you find one with rear view mirrors on it, them things come in handy in the Turkey woods- Also email me link if you find one.

I'll tell you about a vest that if you ever wear one to the turkey woods, you'll wonder how you ever turkey hunted without one. And that vest is the Mossy Oak Super Elite II. I used the Elite II also last season and have no complaints. It was a little more costly, but I never regreted paying the extra money for it.

buy one that YOU like and hold YOUR calls and all your gear nicely.....im retiering mine i think......to dang small for all the stuff i carry.....i will have a slate...a glass....a bout 5 strikers and 2 box calls...plus my knife compass phone survival kit and all kinds of other little things i like to have with me.....heck if i hunt the national forest how me and dad plan i might carry my telescopic fishing rod because ill be way back in there on a little trout stream....if the turkeys arent talkin ill fish lol.....i hope we go there..its great to turkey hunt all morning come back eat lunch then fish and listen for the turkeys....my advice is to look at a bunch....and buy one that suits you best....even if its expensive if its one you like you wont need another on for a long time.......

I bought a Winchester vest last year that I like a lot. It's got a good cushion (1 1/2 to 2") seat, padded back, 16 pockets that fit everything from box to slate calls. Pockets for chalk/mouth calls, shell loops, striker pockets, gloves, GPS, cell phone (if you're that important). One other notable, there are at least 2 pockets for each of these, inside and out. There is also the back pocket for hauling the bird out, complete with 2 or 3 blaze orange patches that velcro in place. The ONLY complaint I have with it is it does get a little warm on hot days, but I think everything gets warm on hot days.:D:D I bought mine from Walmart for $50.00. I don't have any knowledge on the others that have been mentioned, but this one suits me fine. Good luck in your search.:D
