For the last several years I have used the H.S. Strut vest. I didn't care for it all. Two large front pockets, two large rear pockets and the game bag.

Now I have the Mossy Oak Elite Turkey vest and love it! Great vest, holds all my little toys, less rattle.

For something a little cheaper but still a great product, I suggest the Mossy Oak Longbeard vest. I bought one for my hunting buddy at Christmas and really like it. Lighter wait then the Elite, but still has enough pockets. Also comes with shell loops. Best part is, I just saw today where wing supply has them on sale for $19.99....

I paid more then that [:o] ;) I have seen the vest sale for $45 around here.

IMHO- Comfort and accessibility is first and formost, you've got to be able to sit on the cushion for hours without your backside going numb and be able to gain access to your 37 different calls you will carry.(if you dont have that many now, give it time). Just try them all on and see what suits your needs- Personally I dont like them big and bulky but it must have plenty of pockets- I prefer the shoulder straps versus the full vest types that wear like a sleeveless coat cause it stays pretty hot here in South Louisiana-
Just my opinion

Oh, and scrap everything I just said if you find one with rear view mirrors on it, them things come in handy in the Turkey woods- Also email me link if you find one.

Call softly and shoot straight!

I'll tell you about a vest that if you ever wear one to the turkey woods, you'll wonder how you ever turkey hunted without one. And that vest is the Mossy Oak Super Elite II. It has something in the neighborhood of 21 pockets, a super nice drop down seat cushion, a pouch in the back to carry your dekes and a padded back to cushion the old backbone from the tree trunks. Give one a try, they are worth every penny they cost! You can check them out here M.O. Super Elite II Vest. Good luck!:)

I used the Elite II also last season and have no complaints. It was a little more costly, but I never regreted paying the extra money for it.

I bought a Winchester vest last year that I like a lot. It's got a good cushion (1 1/2 to 2") seat, padded back, 16 pockets that fit everything from box to slate calls. Pockets for chalk/mouth calls, shell loops, striker pockets, gloves, GPS, cell phone (if you're that important). One other notable, there are at least 2 pockets for each of these, inside and out. There is also the back pocket for hauling the bird out, complete with 2 or 3 blaze orange patches that velcro in place. The ONLY complaint I have with it is it does get a little warm on hot days, but I think everything gets warm on hot days.:D:D I bought mine from Walmart for $50.00. I don't have any knowledge on the others that have been mentioned, but this one suits me fine. Good luck in your search.:D

Now on the other hand , I am a little different then others. I have customized a vest to fit my liking. I have a Sparten and have added extra pockets to fit the things I use on a hunt. The vest has a open consept with straps that hold it up. I find that the way I hunt I need something cool, with all the pockets ,I have a place for everything up too a water bottle. I've wore one vest right out and have another that is being done in the same manner as the first...BT

I have experience with the Cabela's ATHS, Little Bighorn Lounger, and the Super Elite 1 and 2. The Super Elite 1 did not hold up for two seasons with pretty hard hunting. The Lounger is good and you can set up anywhere but uphill with the thing. The backrest is awesome for getting caught along fencerows or openings. You just grab the strap between your legs and sit down. The frame is do rigid you can not face down a steep hill real well. From 8:30 to 10 flip it upside down and the seat becomes a head rest for a nap. The Cabela's ATHS is very compact and well though out with a pocket for everything and very accessible. I have worn this vest little because it is in Breakup and I usually hunt in green zones preferring Shadowleaf or Advantage Timber. Super Elite 2 just arrived in Mossy Oak Obsession and appears to have the best features yet of any vest I have seen. The butt pad is thick with a non-slip waterproof bottom. Seperate striker slots with buttons. 2 waterproof pockets just the right size for cameras or slate calls. A cinch tite box call pouch, two fold out orange flags, each shoulder has a non-slip neoprene strip for hold on to your favorite boom stick. Backrest is at least a 1/2 inch thick. Vests are my specialty and I would recommend the NWTF Super Elite 2 in Obsession. Any other vest or footweat questions ask away. I sound spoiled don't I?

I use a Buck Lick Easy Lounger.

Has one of them built stadium seats I find hand. Has as many pockets as you might need and the neet thing it has buckles you can undo and move a whole section of pockets right in your lap. It has a big pack bag on back which is easy to reach into from either side.

it is in Mossy Oak Break-up and I paid 50 bucks for.

It is strap vest to which I have hidden a ball compass under the left strap. Out of sight thus no glare but easy to get to if you need directions to who is lost!:D

JW!

Oh been usin it for 5 years now.

Got a little tip for those who need extra Butt padding if ya are old like me!

I take any old drab gym bag strap - apply the clip to either end of a Stearns camo boat cushion - and whala - you have one great butt protector. Gotta get up and move - not a problem - the gym bag strap attached to the boat cushion handles will give ya plenty of room to toss over your shoulder and outa the way.
